I’m Toni Lutzkanov, a full-time piano instructor with over 22 years of experience. I have taught more than 500 students, from age 4 to 80+. I teach students throughout much of the North Shore: mainly Wilmette, Winnetka, Northbrook, Northfield, Glenview, Evanston, Skokie, and the surrounding areas. My lessons accomodate kids and adults of all skill levels, and I teach everything from classical to rock, pop, and jazz. I believe that fun lessons are the key to success, and that’s why I encourage my students in such a wide range of genres. My method has shown rapid improvement in students’ ability to read notes starting from just the first lesson.
During a calendar year I organize two recitals. Both are optional for students, but they’re important for developing performance skills in front of an audience. They also provide a great opportunity for students to work towards the goal of mastering a piece of music, as well as the reward of demonstrating their improvement and enjoying the music played by other students. I understand that many students have a lot going on during the day, and I’m committed to finding lesson times that work for each of my students. I’m available to teach 7 days a week, with a flexible lesson schedule ranging from the early morning before school to late evenings for older students with more packed schedules.
